For 50 years, Adelphoi Foster Care has partnered with families to provide safe, supportive homes for children and teens in need. Through outcome-based services and strong community connections, we continue to offer the support, tools, and resources youth need to grow in resilience and move toward a stable future.

In a perfect world, children would be safe, loved and cared for.

Unfortunately, many children exist in families where abuse, neglect, drugs and alcohol are the norm. Adelphoi’s foster, kinship and adoptive families provide both temporary and permanent loving homes for children whose biological parents can’t or won’t care for them.

Become a Foster or Adoptive Parent

There are more than 500,000 children in the United States who have been removed from their homes. All of them deserve to have a family that loves and protects them. Could you offer your home and your love to just one child in need?

Adelphoi’s foster care and adoption programs offer these children a stable, structured environment, ensuring their physical and emotional safety while they are away from their families. Our foster and adoptive parents work as part of a treatment team where permanency and treatment plans are developed for youth in conjunction with the courts, the natural family, and Adelphoi. Through ongoing training and support, Adelphoi provides parents with the tools necessary to deal with situations they may encounter along the way.

Foster Care

Adelphoi, a premier provider of foster care services in southwestern, central, and northeast PA, has been placing foster kids successfully for over 47 years. Through a strong system of care and our exemplary foster families, Adelphoi is able to help these children grow and develop within a healthy family environment.

Adelphoi offers foster care services based upon the needs of the child, including Teen-Focused Foster Care Intensive Foster Care for youth with more intense problems and Pregnant and Parenting Care to work with pregnant teens and new mothers.

Kinship Care

Adelphoi provides Kinship Care Services to determine whether a potential kin caregiver’s home is a safe placement for youth remanded to the child welfare system. Adelphoi offers two types of services: Home Safety/Caretaker Assessment Study and Formal Kinship Caregiver Services.

Family Finding

Family Finding establishes a lifetime network of support for children and youth who are disconnected or at-risk for placement outside of their home and community. Family Finding identifies family members and supportive adults who are willing to become permanent connections for the child. 

Adoption Services

Adelphoi is a licensed adoption agency and is affiliated with the Statewide Adoption Network (SWAN). Adelphoi also provides adoption services, including Child Specific Recruitment, Child Preparation, Child Profiles, Post-Permanency Services, Family Preparation, and Placement, Family Profile, Family Matching, Mediation and Finalization Services.
