AT-RISK YOUTH NEED HELP TO RECOVER FROM CRISIS AND OVERCOME DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES.
For nearly 50 years, we’ve been one of Pennsylvania’s leading providers of youth and family services.
We serve youth who are at-risk, abused, neglected, delinquent, struggling with academic or behavioral issues. Most of our youth and families have some involvement in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.
Our programs serve 1000 youth and families everyday
Adelphoi’s residential programs provide individual attention by trained professionals in a caring and respectful home-like environment.
“Our goal in multisystemic therapy is to work with families and the communities around them to give each family the tools to be their own agents of change. Each day we are given an opportunity to work with these families not as directors of their progress but as partners and advocates in it.”
Have you been thinking about becoming a foster parent but have questions? Mark your calendar and join Adelphoi's Melanie Gresko as she answers all the questions that you ever wanted to know about becoming a foster parent! Thursday, May 28 at 7 p.m. on Facebook!
Today was the day that we planned to celebrate “Adelphoi Stars” at our Showcase of Stars event. Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel the event this year because of the spread of COVID-19. So, #throwbackthursday to last year’s Showcase of Stars – The Power of the Promise, where we celebrated students who have successfully participated in the Adelphoi Promise. The Adelphoi Promise provides students the chance to further their education, tuition-free, at one of ten participating community colleges across Pennsylvania. There is help available for teens struggling to cope.
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is a treatment service designed to help teens become more successful in their homes, schools, jobs, friendships and communities. The goal of MST is to keep teens and families safe and to help them work through challenges together, achieving the goals they set.
MST meets with the teen and family weekly, at times convenient for them. MST also provides telehealth so teens and families can continue to connect in the comfort of their own homes.
Therapists work with 4-6 families at a time, so availability to families is top priority. On-call support is available each day, evening and weekend.
Adelphoi offers MST in the following counties: Adams, Armstrong, Blair, Bedford, Cambria, Columbia, Cumberland, Fayette, Greene, Huntington, Indiana, Juniata, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder, Somerset, Union, Washington, Westmoreland and York Counties.
Referrals can be made by caregivers, schools, probation officers, caseworkers, and providers. MST is managed care and county funded.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the staff and kids at Vincent home are making sure they are taking time to “Be Kind to Their Minds”. With the stress of COVID-19, the staff and youth at Vincent Home have been making self-care a top priority. Every week, Vincent Home Therapist Ms. Morgan facilitates a mindfulness meditation group that the boys named “Artful Breathing”. The boys and even staff participate! After each session, the boys are given new skills to practice outside of session such as deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and pleasant imagery. Throughout the week when youth are upset or overwhelmed, staff encourage each boy to use the skills they are learning in Artful Breathing.
The boys loved learning these new skills. One boy said “I would rate this group five stars. This group is the most relaxing group I’ve ever had. I struggle a significant amount with my anger but this group slows everything down and keeps me chill. Thumbs up.”
