The Parent Mentor Program is a strength-focused collaborative process that works with families to connect and develop their natural supports and community resources. The program utilizes a family-centered approach that respects family culture and the values within the family.
The Parent Mentor Program utilizes a strength-based tool, created by Cornell University’s Family Development Credentialing Program, to develop and follow through on individual responsibilities as the family works on the goals they have chosen. The Family Development Plans, completed over time, provide a clear record of the family’s progress and offers clear indicators of success. The program incorporates a significant aftercare component to track progress and ensure success after the completion of the program.
