Master’s Message – May, 2008
Dear Brethren,
I want to thank all of you who came to our last meeting to observe
our EA degree on our three new candidates, Steve Brooks, Dale Euga
and Don Twohig. I would also like to thank all the officers for their
work of the evening. You all did a great job. Also congratulations
again to Jim Black and Wallace Brown for being conferred with their
50 year medals by Steve Smith the Grand Master.
At our May meeting we will recognize Bro. Whipple Crossman for his
50 years of service to the craft. We will also be discussing the formation
of our new Investment Committee and subsequent bylaws change. The
top five officers will be meeting this month to formalize the process,
which will be discussed in open lodge. If you have an opinion regarding
this subject, then I suggest you make every attempt to attend at least
one of the next two meetings. We plan to present the process at the
May meeting for discussion and I hope that all is agreed to and finalized
at the June meeting for a vote in September.
We have several events coming up this spring and I hope as many of
you as possible can participate. Saturday April 19th is a CHIPS event
at the Armory of Mounted Commands 1051 North Main St. Providence where
we are co-sponsors along with the Northern District. Contact is Rick
Baccus of Washington Lodge@ c 413-6281 – h 253-0261. Monday May 19th
is the Grand Lodge Annual when we usually reserve 2 tables for our
lodge to attend. Please notify myself or Brother SS David Byrne if
you would like to attend. Our June meeting will be our annual Scholarship
and financial giving night at lodge. June 14th is our annual Strawberry
Festival and June 23rd is our annual golf outing at Montaup CC in
Portsmouth.
I hope to see all of you at our May meeting.
Fraternally,
Davis A. Dewey
